Pondside Views

Pondside is our home -- it's a 2,700 sqft custom designed home that shares two walls with the Patriarch - Stan Lane's house. While it has 3 main levels it is actually a 5 level house with very few right angles - expensive to build, lovely to live in. The soaring ceilings and hardwood floors were designed to provide excellent acoustics for our musical presentations. This is a very live house.

Having been very active in the watergarden and koi communities in the past, when I moved from the mainland to Victoria, a pond was essential. We are responsible for all the design and landscaping - can't blame anyone else. After the pond was complete, my koi were moved over from Abbotsford. (17 large cartons, plastic and an oxygen tank) They appear to be happy.

 

Note -- all but one koi were stolen May 2007. If you see any koi with little suitcases hitchhiking along the road, trying to come back home, please pick them up and give us a call.

This is a view of the front of the house just as construction was being finished -- almost no landscaping had been done at that time.

 
house plan - main floor This plan is the designers draft with modifications. The great room is the performance space. There is a full basement below with a very similar floor plan, plus the addition of a library room under the front porch area.

Note -- we are looking for a good, no current pets home for Ellectra. She likes being an only child and getting lots of attention. We have 2 dogs and 6 cats - she is not amused.

Breakfast at Pondfilk -- Dutch Babies, waffles or egg free pancakes - all house specials. Low or no fat, no sugar healthy food. Tastes good too!
