Pondside Music is the child of Juliana & Douglas McCorison. It was created and nurtured to provide artists and musicians with a place to live, perform and display their works for the enjoyment of others.
Pondside is also our home, a home that was designed to encompass our joy of music, koi and watergardens and sharing these enjoyments with our friends both of old acquaintance and new. Accommodations for musicians and our valued guests are often provided and each year we host Pondfilk, a music retreat/filk convention for musicians in the sci-fi music genre. We have also created a studio for session recording and plan to feature some great local musicians on disc.
Both Juliana and Douglas are Information Technology and Management professionals as well as musicians and songwriters. PondsideMusic Recording Studio and Publishing is about to release its first CD and two more are in the works this month. Our musical involvement brings us great joy and we share this joy by hosting House Concerts to assist others to become acquainted with the vast talent available to us. Musicians and their representatives become aware of our existence through Internet lists and newsletters, word of mouth and other musicians gig postings. Occasionally we will contact a musician or their agent to inquire regarding availability and interest, but most bookings are driven by the musicians themselves. Presently the local market supports a ticket price around the $10 to $12 range, all proceeds are the property of the musician performing.
Pondside Music can comfortably seat 10-40 people with direct sightlines. The Great Room was designed to support and amplify acoustic sound and no electronic amplification is required or recommended. A bright clear tone is supported by the soaring 8ft to 20ft ceiling and oak and birch flooring. In addition, box seating on the upper balcony is available upon request.
The past 6 years have seen many fine concerts by superb musicians, many of whom plan return visits to Pondside in the following years. We welcome them and invite musicians new to Pondside Music to contact us regarding performance opportunities.
